This policy explains what MyPGRent collects from landlords and residents who use the app, why it's collected, and what choices you have over it. It's written to match what the app actually does — rent invoicing, UPI payment approval, maintenance tickets, and building notices — rather than as boilerplate.
What's collected depends on whether you use MyPGRent as a landlord/PG owner or as a resident/tenant.
From landlords and PG owners:
From tenants and residents:
Collected automatically: basic device and app-usage information (such as device type and crash logs) and a push-notification token, used to deliver alerts like payment approvals and notice updates.
We do not use resident or landlord data to sell targeted advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
MyPGRent does not process payments itself. When a resident pays rent, they are taken to their own installed UPI app (such as GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM) or use their own banking channel to complete the transfer directly with the landlord's UPI ID, QR code, or bank account.
After paying, the resident submits the UTR reference number and payment timestamp inside MyPGRent so the landlord can match it against what they received and approve the invoice. MyPGRent stores this reference and the approval status as part of the property's payment ledger — it does not store card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank login credentials, and never has access to them.
Photos attached to a maintenance ticket are visible to the resident who submitted them and the landlord responsible for that property, and are used only to assess and resolve the request. A resident's profile photo, where added, is used for their digital resident pass and is visible to their landlord and to anyone the resident chooses to share their pass with.
We keep account, invoicing, and payment-reference data for as long as an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet record-keeping and legal obligations, such as rent and expense history. Maintenance ticket photos and resident pass photos are retained while the underlying ticket or account is active and are removed within a reasonable period after account deletion, except where retention is required by law.
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access controls on our backend — to protect the information you share with MyPGRent. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep data access limited to what each account needs.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
MyPGRent is intended for landlords, PG owners, and adult residents managing or renting accommodation. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy as the app's features change. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
